Hailing from Cherry Valley, IL, Mo Pitney grew up around music as it was a family affair. Pitney picked up the drums at age six and guitar at twelve. “Johnny Cash At San Quentin was my introduction to playing music. I learned the whole album.” Pitney is one of country music’s most named artists to watch by the likes of Rolling Stone, Billboard, The Huffington Post, Spotify and more. In the making of this album, Mo was literally writing one to two songs a day for months until he decided on the final track listing.
ABOUT THE ALBUM:
A proficient musician and songwriter, Pitney lays credit to 11 of the 12 songs on the album. 10 tracks are produced by legend Tony Brown with the others including Dean Dillon, Phil O’Donnell, Chuck Ainlay and Mo Pitney himself. The album features the first single, “Country”, “Clean Up On Aisle Five”, an NPR “Songs We Love” and Mo’s first song performed from the legendary circle of the Grand Ole Opry stage. Afterwards, a full one minute standing ovation ensued. Other highlights include the brand new single, “Everywhere” and Pitney’s tribute including time, day and date in meeting one of his musical heroes, Merle Haggard with “I Met Merle Haggard Today”. The award winning Vince Gill adds credit to “song” and Alison Krauss on the inviting “Take The Chance”.
