Nicola Harris releases fierce, encouraging, and empowering new single ‘YOU’

Nicola Harris is a singer-songwriter whose passion has always laid within ‘modern’ country music. Whilst career highs have included performing alongside a host of industry stars from UB40 to Elkie Brooks, Jason Donovan to James Arthur, attending The Long Road Festival in 2019 inspired Nicola to put ‘pen to paper’, writing a number of songs inspired by her own life experiences.

During 2020 with the onset of the covid lockdown this gave Nicola the opportunity to focus solely on her songwriting and try to gain a social media fanbase.

Nicola was also delighted to be interviewed by Una Healy on her country hits radio show, where Una made Nicola her ‘Champion homemade artist’ with ‘I Wanna, I Gotta Dance’, and her single ‘Notice Me’, was aired on BBC Introducing which gave Nicola the confidence to keep writing. ‘Notice Me’ was also nominated for a UK Country Music Award, Song of the Year in 2021.

Nicola’s new single ‘YOU’ is a country-rock ballad featuring Sonic Boom Recording artist Preston D. Barnes. The song was produced by Tim Prottey-Jones.

“I wrote “YOU” to help couples who are struggling to share their feelings and due to life’s pressures intimacy has flown out of the window. I’m hoping that when couples are too embarrassed or fear rejection to tell their partner that they want to restore intimacy and passion back in their relationship, they can simply play ‘YOU’ to their partner and say ‘this is how i feel’.”

In such a short space of time Nicola has been so grateful for the fabulous feed-back her songs have received, no more so than being asked to perform at this year’s 2022 Long Road Festival. She continues to write but now also looks to increase her profile by performing her own material, with her fabulous band, in as many venues across the country as she is able.
