Rae Sam released her brand new single ‘Wildly Me’ today and it’s available now to buy or stream on all major platforms and you can tune into @mam_roots IGTV from 2pm today for an exclusive live video.
“Wildly Me is an anthem to just let go and freely be who you really are. This song will leave you feeling uplifted, fearless and ready to be ‘Wildly’ you!” Rae Sam revealed.
“It’s a story that’s written into all walks of life. We all take this journey of finally throwing caution to the wind and just being our real selves. Forgetting the worry and fear of doing everything perfectly, and emerging as the person that we are or long to be when no ones watching…….to dance a little freer, take risks without fearing failure, to be bold, adventurous and learn to say yes.
This is my story, but I am not alone. We are all on this journey to becoming wildly, passionately, unafraid of being exactly who we are.”
Born and raised in Wales, the land of song, Rae Sam’s heritage and family predestined her flare for music. Rugby games, choirs, a home to the greats like Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey!
Her love for writing began young. After learning three chords on the guitar, she wrote a song and performed it in churches at the age of nine. As she grew older, she became deeply connected to the rawness of Country music and its unique power to ‘hit the soul,’ accept brokenness and heal. A remedy that she had used in her own life.
Rae Sam’s music has taken her all over the UK and all over the world; from Israel, to Croatia and the USA. After playing with musicians who had toured with Dolly Parton, Van Morrison and Phil Collins; Rae Sam was inspired to become a storyteller through music. Whilst in Nashville, she had the privilege of recording her first EP with Chester Thompson (from Genesis).
In 2020, Rae sam sat down with producers in the music filled studio to talk about her first album ‘The Great Escape’ and there were clear distinct sounds that she wanted. Country to touch the soul, Celtic for that wildness of her heritage and finally pop, with a touch of funk, to make you want to dance! The combination was simple – it had to be everything that Rae Sam loves.
Previous releases ‘The Great Escape’ and ‘Keep Running’ from the album, have already received great support, featuring on BBC 3 Counties radio, BBC Radio Wales and as ‘Drivetime single of the week’ on Wycombe Sound radio.
