Emma & Jolie Release New Single ‘All That Glitters’
Country Pop duo Emma & Jolie have released brand new single All That Glitters and it’s our Country Release Friday pick with MAM Roots. Both hurt by previous toxic relationships, the duo sat down to process their experiences the best way they know how and emerged with their beautiful new track. Although lighthearted with its upbeat and feel good vibe, the lyrics cut deep to resonate with anybody who has felt addicted to an unhealthy relationship and kept going back despite knowing it was no good for them. Emma & Jolie recorded the new single with producer Graeme Young at the acclaimed Chamber Studios in Edinburgh (Snow Patrol, Amy MacDonald), further developing their distinctive sound with echoes of their country idols Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves, crossed with pop royalty Ariana Grande & Dua Lipa.
About All That Glitters they shared, “We originally came up with the idea “All That Glitters isn’t Gold” meaning sometimes, even though somebody can seem amazing, shiny, wonderful…they really aren’t! They are just fools gold! We wrote the song in lockdown with Adam Fitzgerald and as soon as we finished writing we knew this was going to be our next single and have been so excited to release it ever since.”
Where storytelling, modern country and sensational harmonies meet you’ll find modern pop-country duo Emma & Jolie. Having first met at music college in 2015, the pair were instant best friends, bonding over their shared love for Taylor Swift, and have been inseparable ever since. When they started writing songs and recording covers together for fun, it very quickly became apparent that they captured something very special as a duo and that was just the start of their musical journey together.
Emma & Jolie burst onto the UK Country scene in 2020 with debut single I Don’t Need A Man which shot straight to #1 in the UK Country iTunes Chart and #32 in the All Genre iTunes Chart. The stunning and vulnerable release Cry For You soon followed and to date their releases have had radio support from BBC Introducing and Country Hits Radio (now Absolute Radio Country) where they have been spotlighted as Matt Spracklen’s Hits Brits Champion twice. They have also attracted playlist support on Spotify’s Wild Country and PopCo. Playlists as well as Apple Music’s Today’s Country, racking up 104k streams on Spotify and 313k streams on Apple Music. With performances at Song Suffragettes (Nashville) as part of CMA Week, Nashville Meets London, Buckle & Boots Country Music Festival and Tennessee Fields Festival under their belts, Emma & Jolie are a pop-country force to be reckoned with.
