Country In The Afternoon Returns on 19/20 November at The Half Moon in Putney

Cumbrae Promotions are delighted to announce that Country in The Afternoon returns to The Half Moon in Putney, London on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th November 2022 with a stellar array of talent from the USA and UK.

The latest edition of Country In The Afternoon will, on Saturday 19thNovember, feature The Outlaw Orchestra, Edinburgh’s Lorna Reid, Chase Stapleton from Nashville and Chloe Chadwick, while on Sunday 20thNovember, millions-selling Nashville artist Jeremy McComb, Poppy Fardell along with fast rising US artist Dan Olsen/Sack Of Lions and Robyn Red will take to the legendary Half Moon stage.

On their third release “Back Under The Covers”, The Outlaw Orchestra once again demonstrate that they are consummate musicians and live they are a joy to behold, belting out their “Heavy Grass” material interlaced with anecdotes and belly-laugh stories. They’ll leave you with a sore foot from stamping, a sore face from grinning and a devilish bit of outlaw in your blood.

Lorna Reid effortlessly bridges the gap between jazz and country and has grown to become one of Scotland’s most sought-after cross-genre singer/songwriters, touring internationally and in the UK. Following co-writes with the likes of Boo Hewerdine and Darden Smith, she brings a marvellous panache to her stage performances which inevitably enthrals audiences.

Chase Stapleton comes from a large musical family in California but moved to Nashville to become a singer/songwriter on Broadway and venues like the Bluebird Café. His songs combine modern country with American roots music and a little southern California soul to create performances that combine the best of intimate acoustic moments with a genuine toe tapping party vibe.

The embodiment of tenacity, drive and grit, with a huge passion for the art of songwriting and a true love of the road, Chloe Chadwick clocks up almost 200 shows a year, melting audiences’ hearts with heartfelt songs about the never-ending cycle of life, love and loneliness. Her americana tinged songs effortlessly blend rock and country influences and have led to her sharing the bill with a host of artists ranging from Lady Antebellum to The Shires and Drake White to Emmylou Harris.

Jeremy McComb, a country-rock storyteller epitomizing “been there and done that”, has explored nearly every facet of the entertainment industry, all on his own terms. Growing an international fanbase and hitting the Billboard charts, he’s written songs for projects selling over 6 million copies. Obsessed with artists who share a gift for storytelling (and little else), he found inspiration in everything from Jim Croce to Tom Petty and now bridges the canyons between country, rock and folk.

Poppy Fardell’s honest & vivid storytelling have captured the hearts and imaginations of the UK’s music loving audiences One of the most promising artists in the U.K. country music scene, Poppy is sparking fire & truth with every lyric as she defies her age with heartfelt messages and embracing the notion of doing things her way. With influences such as Lainey Wilson, Maren Morris and The Chicks, you can expect big vocals and catchy songs with an edge of country flair from this up & coming artist.

Amix of country, roots and rock music with honest lyrics with a high energy show have made Dan Olsen/Sack Of Lions one of the premier country acts in the US Midwest, appealing to country fans of all ages and tastes. Coming off the 2019 Billboard charting album “White Lightning”, Sack of Lions released their latest single “Take Me Away” in June of 2022 to an incredible response.

With a strong, expressive voice and engaging stage personality, this will be Robyn Red’s first ever performance in London. Heavily influenced by the hard work and tenacity of Luke Combs and the story telling talent of Asley McBryde, developing her love of country and pop in her own material, her first single, “Like A Bullet” reached the top in the country charts.
