HARDY Unveils Debut Album ‘A Rock’ – Out Sept 4th

Written by HARDY with Hunter Phelps, Ben Johnson and Ashley Gorley, “Give Heaven Some Hell” serves as a soulful, sentimental tribute to a departed friend, emphasizing the “smart, twisty songwriting and penchant for small-town stories” (Billboard) that HARDY has become known for. “’Give Heaven Some Hell’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written,” shares HARDY. “I just hope this helps anyone that’s ever suffered a loss of a loved one. Excited for this song to exist in the world.”

Rolling Stone describes “HARDY’s gift: synthesizing biography with imagination to create real storytelling.”

Accompanying the pensive tune, its equally compelling music video was directed by Justin Clough and shot in Lynnville, TN. Featuring a cast made up of HARDY’s repeat collaborators and A ROCK album co-writers — Jameson Rodgers, Hunter Phelps, Jake Mitchell, Ben Johnson, Smith Ahnquist and more — the clip is a heart-wrenching visual depiction of the story told in “GIVE HEAVEN SOME HELL.” Set against the backdrop of a rural church funeral, HARDY and company celebrate a friend in life and in death, reminiscing on old stories interwoven with flashbacks that revive his memory and allow them to send him off in a bittersweet way.

A ROCK is available to pre-order now, and will be released on Sept 4th via Big Loud: https://hardy.ffm.to/arock.opr.

With every new release, Big Loud Records’ HARDY puts his signature loud-and-rowdy stamp on modern Country music as both an artist and a CMA and ACM-nominated songwriter. His unprecedented compilation album HIXTAPE VOL. 1 — 17 all-star collaborations on 10 tracks, including current single “One Beer” feat. Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson — has been praised as “one of the most ambitious projects of the year” (Billboard). The countrified mixtape follows career-launching EPs THIS OLE BOY and WHERE TO FIND ME, and earned HARDY critical acclaim as a 2020 double ACM nominee (Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year), a Vevo DSCVR artist, a MusicRow 2020 Next Big Thing artist, and “One To Watch” by CMT, Rolling Stone, Amazon, Pandora and more. The pride of Philadelphia, MS is “one of Music Row’s most consistent hit-makers on the rise” (CMT), tallying writing credits on four PLATINUM- certified #1 singles in 18 months – Morgan Wallen’s 2X PLATINUM “Up Down,” FGL’s 2X PLATINUM “Simple,” Chris Lane’s PLATINUM “I Don’t Know About You” and Shelton’s 2X PLATINUM “God’s Country.”
