Singer-Songwriter Donna Marie Releases Rip Roaring ‘Good Time Girl’
Having already released 3 other singles this year, including the melancholy song about heartache ‘Pity Party’, the uptempo party song ‘Get Wild’ and last months thought-provoking song ‘This World’, Donna Marie called upon the talents of Patrick Jordan to feature on ‘Good Time Girl’.
This isn’t the first time Donna and Patrick have worked together. Donna features on Patrick’s 2019 album ‘A Woman Like You’ and Patrick mixed her previous single ‘Get Wild’. They have been collaborating virtually since Donna answered Patrick’s social media post asking for female backing vocals for his single ‘You’. (They still haven’t met OR even talked on the phone and it’s all done via email!)
Donna wrote Good Time Girl back in 2006 and her previously recorded version can be found on her album entitled ‘This World’ (available on CD only).
She wanted to give the song a revamp for 2020. Donna recorded keyboards, acoustic guitars, bass guitar and vocals at home then sent the track to Patrick to add some more magic. Patrick features on Drums, vocal harmonies and rip roaring blues guitar and He also mixed the single.
Donna is also a music producer and recently completed Phoenix Morby’s latest album ‘Shieldwall’ during lockdown.
You can hear Donna perform as part of the lockdown inspired online band The Songs & Stories Collective featuring Tennessee Twin & Sarah Yeo.
They also recorded their version of Lori McKenna’s ‘Humble & Kind’ which is available for free download at www.donnamariesongs.com.
Donna is working on more new material that was written during lockdown with the view to release a brand new EP.
