The Rising Release ‘You Had It All’.
Country Rock Duo The Rising return with their brand new single “You Had It All”. Release 23rd April on all digital platforms.
‘You Had It All’ is a duet which marks the first ever single where The Rising have featured a guest artist on vocals. The duo collaborated with close friend and Northern Irish Singer-Songwriter Stephen A. Quinn on the song.
Fiercely proud to be DIY artists, Chantelle and Chris recorded, produced and mixed the song themselves. However, due to lockdown restrictions Stephen’s vocal was recorded via a non-contact method from the duos own recording studio Renegade Maverick Studios. The Drums were tracked by Chris Brush in Nashville, TN. The track was Mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Rolling Stones, The Killers, Snow Patrol and many more).
The song itself is based upon the story of a very personal breakup. But, we all thought that it would be interesting to turn the song into a duet. Allowing us to take the listener on a journey and explore two narratives with different voices. In essence, making the song a conversation between the two characters. Where the characters jostle with their respective emotions until they realise that neither has won, they have both lost something in the breakup.
The single is the first release from our upcoming five-track EP entitled “No Hope Without Love”. Each track will be released as a series of stand-alone singles which will be released every three weeks.
The five singles are part of the EP “No Hope Without Love”. The EP title comes from a lyric in one of the songs in the EP called “Break The Chains” which is about looking at today’s society and all the wrongs we do to each other and how we have to change it before there is nothing left. The actual lyric was inspired by a Saint Augustine quote. Overall, the EP is a real mixed bag of music, allowing the duo to explore new sonic textures and approaches to each song. Not only that, but in terms of content the EP deals with some much larger topics lyrically.
The reason for releasing the tracks individually is simply due to modern consumption trends which are more focused on consistent content and shorter content.
The Rising are best described as blending the fresh-faced sounds of today’s Pop/Rock with Modern Country Rock/Americana Stylings fresh from Nashville. Proud to be DIY artists the band embrace and enjoy having full creative control over their music which involves recording and producing their own music through to shooting their own music videos.
To date the Duo have received support from the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio London, Country Hits Radio, Guitarist Magazine, Maverick Magazine, Hot Press Magazine.
Constant touring across Ireland, UK and Europe has allowed the band to build up a healthy fanbase as well as perform at prestigious events such as Country 2 Country Festival in London’s 02.
Their second album “Moving On” received great critical acclaim across national and regional media. Including publications in the USA featuring the band. This constant work ethic resulted in the band being named Band Of The Month on BBC Introducing. Since then the Duo have switched tactic and released a single every six weeks since Feb 2020.
One of the band’s singles “Even The Stars Fall For You” was adopted by LGBTQ rights organisations.
The Duo host a live stream show every Monday night on their Facebook channel. Filmed in High definition with studio quality sound.
