ABOUT ‘THE RISING’
Northern Irish Country Pop/Rock Duo The Rising return with their fresh new single, a re-imagining of the 2004 Girls Aloud hit “Love Machine”. The Duo first performed the song during a BBC Introducing session when they were asked to perform a cover song that was out unexpected. They decided to perform the song with a completely new country spin. The reaction to the track was a surprise and the live session was then played several times by BBC Introducing. After this the duo decided to set about recording a studio version of the song. Taking the sugary pop single and transforming it to a full on country shuffle, complete with Banjos and even a cowbell.
Proud to be DIY artists Chantelle and Chris recorded, produced and mixed the song themselves at their studio Renegade Studios. With Chantelle covering all the vocals and percussion (Cowbell) and Chris playing all the instruments including Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Drums etc. Once the song was finished the track was Mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Rolling Stones, The Killers, Snow Patrol and many more).
The single marks the first release for the band in 2020. The first of an ambitious monthly single release strategy. The single will be released across all digital and streaming platforms on 21st Feb 2020.
The Rising are best described as blending the fresh-faced sounds of today’s Pop/Rock with Modern Country Stylings fresh from Nashville. Proud to be DIY artists the band embrace and enjoy having full creative control over their music.
Having received support from the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio London, Guitarist Magazine, Maverick Magazine, Hot Press Magazine and many others.
Constant touring across Ireland, UK and Europe has allowed the band to build up a healthy fanbase as well as perform at prestigious events such as Country 2 Country Festival in London’s 02.
They have recently released their second album “Moving On” which received great critical acclaim across national and regional media. Including publications in the USA featuring the band. Most notably US Country Bible The Boot. This constant work ethic resulted in the band being named Band Of The Month on BBC Introducing. One of the band’s singles “Even The Stars Fall For You” was adopted by LGBTQ rights organisations after the band highlighted the fact that equal marriage rights were not available in their home country in the video for the song.
The band will be touring the UK and Ireland in March 2020. Full dates can be found on the bands website soon.
