Twinnie Shares New Country-Pop Anthem ‘Cool’
BCMA award-winner Twinnie returns with her first taste of new music in more than a year via the anthemic pop crossover single ‘Cool’ and we’re delighted to share it as our Country Release Friday pick with MAM Roots. The track is a bold statement of intent from an artist showcasing her eclectic soundscape. The latest offering from the award-winning performer sees her stepping out of the country music realms and more into the mainstream pop world, but the storytelling element remains and so does her natural twang.
‘Cool’ is acting as the launchpad of a new version of Twinnie’s 2020 debut album ‘Hollywood Gypsy’ and bother are available now on all digital platforms. The project offers listeners yet another dimension to the hit-filled pop-country soundtrack.
The release of this stellar anthem marks the start of an exhilarating new era for Twinnie who is currently gearing up for her first UK headline tour which comes on the back of a Nashville songwriting trip where she penned songs for a forthcoming US EP release.
Speaking about ‘Cool’, Twinnie reveals, “It’s a hopeful break-up song. It’s about being hopeful for a relationship that’s not quite done yet. It’s in that stage of maybe one day everything will be ok and it’ll work out, even if we’re not together right now.”
An accomplished entertainer, Twinnie has toured as a backing vocalist and dancer for artists including Robin Thicke, Pharrell, Michael Bublé, Justin Timberlake, and The Wanted. Her vocals are featured on Jamie Lawson’s album and songwriting cuts appear on The Shires’ debut LP. Acting credits meanwhile include the Oscar-nominated movie The Wife (starring Glenn Close, and Jonathan Pryce).
Her own songs demonstrate dynamic pop elements combined with captivating country storytelling, which stray into rock territory whilst her unique soundscape also embraces electronics. Her authenticity and honesty are evident throughout her music, especially on the tongue-in-cheek ‘Type Of Girl’, observational ‘Social Babies’, and the sombre ‘Lie To Me’.
Littered with 90s inspired country styles, and modern-day pop hits, Twinnie’s debut album ‘Hollywood Gypsy’ was an autobiographical arrival onto the scene. Laced with classic Shania Twain vibes, that edge into the Dua Lipa pop world the LP was the perfect introduction to her eclectic sound.
A Radio 2 championed artist, and BCMA award-winner, Twinnie is expected to spearhead the next wave of Brit country crossover artists straying into the mainstream market and thanks to her links to Nashville global success is within tantalising reach.
“To sing my own songs, and people sing them back to me has always been the ultimate dream. I either want to break people’s hearts or make them dance – or both at the same time” – Twinnie
