Andrew Jones

Accomplished British country music singer/songwriter Andrew Jones has been a part of the UK scene for well over a decade having first fronted rock crossover act Journey Home before performing across Britain’s top country festivals including the pop-up stages at the O2 Arena for Country2Country and many times for the BBC Introducing Oxford’s Live Events Stages.

Taking inspiration from a number of different genres has helped him write songs that people can relate to no matter what their relationship is with Country music. He draws on sights and sounds from 70’s and 80’s rock, Old School Southern Rock and newer Country Music to write meaningful songs that audiences respond to. Some parodies of American Country life can be heard cleverly intertwined in the writing as well. “Ain’t Quite a Truck” as a perfect example.

“For me, it doesn’t really matter what genre a song is, if you like it then you like it. I listen to all sorts of music and that helps come up with different ideas when writing.”

Chasing Twisters

As you can imagine, Stoke on Trent doesn’t have an abundance of Twisters to Chase, so we formed a band and played some awesome modern country music instead!

Chasing Twisters combine their British pop and rock upbringings with their favourite American country influences to create their own twist of original modern country music. The 5 piece band formed in Autumn 2021 after songwriter and guitarist Craig Chapman sought out a band of like-minded players happy to create new music and bring his songs to life. He met vocalist, songwriter and bassist Laura Holden, and they brought in Chris Cooper on drums, Pat Wright on guitar and Dave Deaville on keys to perfect the Chasing Twisters sound.

In Summer 2022 they chose 5 original songs to record for their first EP at their Inspire Music Studios in Staffordshire. You’re Melting Me Is the title track from the EP released in November 2022 with a video to accompany it and the EP is available on all digital platforms.
Proactive in wanting to promote new, original country music artists, the band have set-up a local monthly session for Country and Americana songwriters at The Artisan Tap in Stoke on Trent, UK, with Chasing Twisters hosting and playing a full set to finish the evening, hopefully with a few guests joining in.

DJ Chris Armstrong

Chris Armstrong’s Country Music journey began back in 2013. Upon hearing Brad Paisley’s song “Outstanding in Our Own Field” sparked a passion for country music that led to him attending the C2C festival the following March. There, a love for live performances grew, with discoveries like The Band Perry, Rascal Flatts, and Chris Young. This enthusiasm extended into 2015, when he became involved with the Downtown Country radio station in Northern Ireland, contributing articles, on-air segments, and concert photography. Hosting a three-day drive-in event during restrictions solidified a professional relationship with the team, and by 2022, Chris was back with the Farmers Bash team at the SSE Arena for the biggest event of his career. DJing at such a large-scale event reaffirmed his passion, and he soon found himself performing at country music events across the UK, including the Buck n Bull Saloon in London and the Sony Music Launch Party for Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album.

In 2023, his career reached new heights, with invitations to DJ at the American Speedfest and The Long Road Festival, as well as ‘Rodeos’ country bar in Wolverhampton. Now, in 2024, opportunities continue to grow. With Farmers Bash 2024 drawing over 21,000 attendees, and performances across the UK, Ireland and in Switzerland, including support for Luke Combs UK, he reflects on how years of hard work have paid off, solidifying his place in the country music scene.

James Dunne

Establishing himself as one of the most exciting new voices of Outlaw Country in the United Kingdom, James Dunne is channeling the darker sub genre of Country music, carrying on the torch from the weathered, authentic and unapologetic songwriters of the 1980’s. Embracing honest, authentic delivery, and behind a simple musical backdrop, Dunne delivers a raw truth in his storytelling.

Dunne’s humble beginnings saw him born and raised in North London to Irish parents, his father a ground worker and mother a seamstress, to which Irish folk music was prevalent in the household. This early influence is apparent in Dunne’s ability to communicate and evoke a feeling. These vehement life experiences and the one’s that developed later in life as a fall out of becoming a veteran soldier, contribute to Dunne’s unique bare all and controversial style of song writing despite only writing/performing live for just over a year.

Dunne returns this year with follow-up single ‘Black Train’ from his upcoming EP with the aim to ignite the fire in others too afraid to speak out and say exactly what they want to say and remove the stigma around what you should be singing about to ‘tick the boxes’ to create popular Country music.

OneDay40

John, Billy, George and Andy cut their country teeth in Evangeline, contemporaries of the pioneers of original British country music in the early 2000s. Regulars in the clubs and at festivals, they played as far afield as the Bluebird Café in Nashville and Hampden Park in Glasgow on the back of two self-published original albums. OneDay40, so named because John and Billy are 364 days apart in age, rose from the ashes of Evangeline as a vehicle for the enthusiastic songwriting and production ambitions of band members. The 2007 album release of “Unfinished Business” scored a BCMA “Best Album” award, and a recording contract with a small Nashville label – but the challenges of “normal” life got in the way of the band pursuing this any further and they took a “fourteen year vacation”.

A gathering in 2023 reminded the band members of just how much they had in common, and work began on new original material driven by their diverse musical influences and extensive and colourful life experiences. The fruits of this rebirth are destined for a new album, slated for 2025 release, with the first tracks becoming available mid-2024.

Tom Gibson

Tom’s love for music started at the young age of 6 learning guitar from his father. His first stage appearance was at The Stone Jug in Stalybridge playing guitar for his father’s band when he was 12 years old. From here, he started singing age 16, started gigging with The Lost Seas as a rock/blues band & started writing his own songs on the side. Tom started recording & producing his own songs in his bedroom whilst gigging with his band – Rhythm House. These songs were released and Tom gained traction performing support slots in Manchester at venues such as the Castle Hotel, Manchester Cathedral, Gorilla & Band On the Wall.

Tom took a 2 year break from releasing as he wanted to change direction & wanted to find his true style. After hundreds of writing sessions & demo tracks, Tom landed on his country/pop style after falling in love with the country sound & writing style mixed with his modern take on the genre. He takes inspiration from the likes of John Mayer, Cody Johnson, Brad Paisley, Luke Combs, Zach Top & rock/blues bands such as The Eagles and Bad Company.

Tom is currently in talks for upcoming concerts around the UK and has some exciting new tracks in the pipeline kicking it all off his new release ‘Like You Used To’ out now on all streaming platforms.

Two Ways Home

Anglo – Austrian duo Two Ways Home are the songwriters: Isabella MaK (Vienna) and Lewis Fowler (Gloucestershire). The pair fuse catchy melodies with luscious harmonies and rocky guitars, often referring to their style as folk/rock with a country twist. After their inception in 2014 and several releases, they have crafted a sound, which pairs well with artists like Lady A, The Lumineers and Fleetwood Mac.

The duo, revered as a great live act, has performed at the top of the Shard, headlined shows at the prestigious Under the Bridge venue in Chelsea, supported several artists in the Country/Americana scene and played some great festivals including: The Long Road, Nashville Meets London and The British Country Music Festival to name a few. Isi and Lewis released their debut album at the beginning of 2020, with plans to tour the UK and return to Germany, Austria and America. Unfortunately Covid19 made being out on the road impossible. Instead, the duo focused on writing new material and playing many online shows, which led to them winning ‘Best Duo/Group’ at the Country Music Spotlight Awards. The pair released 3 re-worked tracks from their debut album at the beginning of 2021 and followed this with a run of shows including appearances at several Foodies Festivals across the UK between lockdowns. In late 2021 and 2022 the pair were nominated for best band/duo at the BCMA and have recently spent time writing and recording new material, creating an ever-growing buzz for new releases.

Wood Burnt Red

Their Southern American look might fool some, but listen closer and you’ll hear that Wood Burnt Red are a UK country rock band like no other. With 3 of the band hailing from the Midlands UK, and 1 from Zimbabwe, the boys have each been playing music for over 15 years, but a pandemic saw all four of them unable to perform their art.

With nothing but his acoustic guitar, pen, paper, and some whiskey too, frontman and songwriter Tom Franklin spent his nights endlessly writing country songs, which led him to form the band in the summer of 2020. Ever since, Wood Burnt Red has been playing across the Midlands and South West, knocking dead crowds with their original writing and energetic performances in a show that leaves you wanting more.

Which brings us to now… Their debut single ‘All I Need Is You’ is out now, as Wood Burnt Red show the rest of the world what it’s been missing.
