Wood Burnt Red are the UK’s answer to Brothers Osborne with their electric guitar licks, punchy bass lines, and frontman Tom’s rich vocals. The band’s fourth single ‘Dead and Gone’ is out on Friday 26th May!
With three solid single releases under their belt, Tom, Seb, Russ, and Eddie are making a big impression on the UK Country & Americana scene. ‘The Hills,’ the band’s last release, featured their signature southern-rock sound but the lyrics were a heartfelt tribute to their hometown. In contrast, their brand new single, ‘Dead and Gone,’ captures their playful side as they envision their legacy after they’re gone with a song that packs a knockout punch and raises a big smile.
“We wanted us to have a track that stood out in its own way, something more on the rock side of country and southern rock, something that really kicks off with a bang.
It’s a bit of “us” and our parents as well as paying homage to, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Beetles and Led Zeppelin, the music we were raised on, in the lyrics and guitar licks.
The lyrics themselves are a jovial look on us as individuals. We like to party, play jokes, have fun. We can be mischievous from time to time, and if anything were to happen to one of us, we’d want that to be continued and lived on in the rest of us. So… When I’m Dead and Gone, Dance upon my Grave, Party all night long and Raise hell in my place” – Wood Burnt Red
You can catch Wood Burnt Red headlining The Paddock stage at Buckle and Boots festival in Manchester on Sunday 28th May at 8pm.
