Two Ways Home announce the release of their latest single, “Hear a Heartbreak,” available on November 1st, 2024, to coincide with the start of their 2nd UK wide “Round Up” tour, which is a Nashville-style writers round, celebrating some of the UKs best songwriters in the Country/
Americana spectrum.
Known for their captivating harmonies and engaging storytelling, the duo takes a powerful turn with this brooding, modern rock anthem, offering fans a continuation of a heavier, more intense sound. With lyrics that cut deep into emotional turmoil, “Hear a Heartbreak” digs into the darker corners of human relationships. Lewis Folkner delivers a raw and visceral performance, matched by gritty guitar work and thunderous percussion. The song paints a vivid picture of vulnerability and drama, encapsulating ‘Schadenfreude’, people feeling good if they can witness someone else fail. With lines like, “People wanna hear a heartbreak, in a hotel room, missing the person lying next to you,” the track unflinchingly exposes the loneliness that comes with emotional fractures.
The chorus emphasises that people are often drawn to the spectacle of heartbreak, almost like an audience to someone’s emotional downfall. It suggests that while people may want to hear about someone’s pain, it doesn’t necessarily help the person going through it — “a problem shared is not a problem solved.”
“We wanted to explore a more intense, rock-driven sound with our latest releases and ‘Hear a Heartbreak,’ is part of this journey” says Isabella Folkner. “It’s a look at the messiness of the human psyche.”
