OneDay40 announce new single, album release date, and partnership with Last Night from Glasgow Records.

Glasgow-based band OneDay40 have joined the Last Night From Glasgow Cartel of self-releasing artists and today confirmed the launch date of their much-awaited comeback album “Finished Business”. Shipping digitally and on vinyl from LNFG on 29th May 2026 the new album is now available to pre-order. (OneDay40 – Finished Business (Pre-Order)).

Also announced today is the lead single/title track of the album, which will be available online in video and audio formats from Friday 13th February.

Formed out of the embers of original UK country pioneers Evangeline, OneDay40 released the critically acclaimed album “Unfinished Business” in 2007, going on to win the BCMA for “Best Album”. Despite their early success, including a Nashville record deal and the offer of a US tour, the foursome drifted apart for nearly two decades as life got in the way of the music.

Lead songwriters John Naismith and Billy Matthews (after whom the band is named – they are 364 days apart in age) reconnected in 2022 to compare notes. It didn’t take long before the concept for a new album was born, with fellow band members George Adams (vocals) and Andy Holmes (drums) joining the writing team.

Billy says “It’s been a long old journey getting to this point – a lot has changed in the two decades that we’ve been away and it took us a little while getting back to a productive way of working. But, we got there, and we’re absolutely chuffed at the collection of songs that we’ve produced”.

John added “We’re particularly pleased to be working with LNFG on the release – being a band that nearly made it a couple of times means that we’re very careful about partnerships – but it’s obvious that their heart is in the right place.”

The album “Finished Business” will be available on vinyl and all digital platforms.
