Opening the Album, Growing Pains sets the emotional tone for Lost at Last. Built around the line “the world is not a whisper,” the song reflects on how loud and overwhelming, life can feel particularly when our differences leave us feeling isolated or out of place. It speaks to the experience of not fitting neatly into the world and the quiet ache that can come with that realisation.
At its heart, Growing Pains is a song of reassurance and solidarity. It is a promise to stand beside the ones we love through discomfort, confusion, and change,
reminding them that pain is often part of growth. With themes of resilience, self-love, and the grounding strength of family, the song offers hope: that these moments will pass, and that love — for yourself and for those around you is something worth holding on to.
