Wales’ country siren Eleri Angharad returns with brand new music this fall; her much anticipated new single “Snake Like You” features Welsh hip-hop artist Millie Blooms! Released on TODAY (Friday 14th October) on all digital streaming and download platforms
It’s an exciting time for the Swansea starlet who caps off a huge 2022 with appearances at -Country 2 Country, Focus Wales, Country on the Coast, and In It Together Festival. Sprinkle in support appearances with some of the biggest names in country music such as Bailey Tomkinson, Tim Prottey-Jones, Jill Andrews andKezia Gill and it’s been hugely successful year already; all this despite being locked up in a studio for half of the year recording her new album!
Departing from the big city apartment energy of Nightclub Floor, she returns Earthboundwith a newly found bold sassy attitude. Snake Like Youis about the slimy salesmen you encounter in every walk of life, the chancers who try and charm you with a bottle of snake oil.
“I get constantly bombarded with messages from fake companies promising success. Whether it be millions of streams, followers, publishing contracts, or gig offers that when you delve deeper are either bot generated or just rip you off. It can be an absolute minefield trying to decipher who’s genuine and who’s not and it’svery frustrating.” Says Eleri.
The single is less of a response, and more of a bite back! Sonically, it’s underpinned with some Western Mojave Desert riffs, seamless slide guitar, each verse and chorus perfectly placed, building up the pent-up frustration before Millie Blooms guests and strikes like a thirsty rattlesnake.
The song is written, produced and features Millie Blooms, who you’ll be hearing a lot more of in future releases, as she joins Eleri’s team as Executive Producer for album number 2. All instrumentation on this song is arranged by Millie and Dan Fry of Millie Blooms Productions, as well as contributing to the writing process.
Millie further adds “It’s been such an exciting experience collaborating with Eleri to bring ‘Snake Like You’ to life, from concept to realisation. It’s been so cathartic sharing stories of our musical adventures and finding so many similarities, even though we’re from different genres. Like Eleri, I too could use a PA to manage the daily expanding list of unpersonal and scandalous DMs that I’m sent, promising me career success at a price. The music industry is full of well presented, snakey people, all trying to take a bite… which led us to produce Snake Like You”.
Eleri closes “Snake Like You is real parting from the pop sound of Nightclub Floor and I’m hoping my fanbase, critics and most importantly you reading this, will hop up on the saddle next to me for the journey into album number 2!”
Named “An Artist to Watch” by Belles & Gals, Eleri Angharad has certainly lived up to that title. At 19, Eleri ventured out into the USA for a road trip visiting the country music hotbeds of Greensboro, North Carolina and Nashville, as well as big shining lights of Chicago and New York.
