Staffordshire-based singer-songwriter Sarah Riches has had a busy year performing her album with her 7-piece band The Dreamcatchers. The album “I Don’t Give Up Easily” ranges from upbeat country to bluesy reflection and was recorded and produced in Nashville at Soundstage Studios by legendary producer Fred Mollin and mastered by Greg Calbi, Sterling Sound, New Jersey. Sarah truly had a fairy godfather moment when Fred Mollin was introduced to her voice and writing and took her under his wing. Mollin has worked with artists such as JD Souther, Kris Kristofferson, Jimmy Webb, Billy Ray Cyrus, Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett, and Joe Cocker, and most of the musicians that played on Sarah’s album are regular musicians at The Grand Ole Opry.
Following on from being a finalist in the 2023 British Country Music Association (BCMA) Awards: Best Female Performer category, she was also a finalist in both the 2023 and 2024 UK Country Radio.com Awards in 3 categories: UK Country Album of the Year, UK Female Country Singer of the Year, UK Country Artist of the Year.
Sarah writes her own songs and always has some tracks in the background waiting to be released.
Her June 2024 release “Finally Free” (BCMA Editors Choice) received significant radio play and features the fantastic musicianship of her band The Dreamcatchers (Tobias Wilson, Dan Machin, Dave McGarry, Sam Martin, George Lawton, and Helen Walford). It was produced in the UK by Tobias Wilson and mastered in Texas by Bryan David, Anthem Recording.
The same great team are also behind her for this brand new release, “We Need To Talk”.
“This song is about finally finding the courage to express how you feel and daring to hope for happiness, even though opening up could potentially lead to heartbreak instead”
“We Need To Talk” describes a relationship that has never been fully defined reaching that fragile moment where the couple decide if they both have feelings for each other, or if this is as far as it goes. Inevitably, it’s the person that probably feels the most connected that is likely to initiate the conversation, but it requires such courage to disrupt the status quo as everything now tips in the balance and they know they’re risking it all by revealing how they feel.
Sarah writes and sings passionately and honestly about situations that people can relate to, and this will be another of her songs that makes her listeners think “Yes, I’ve been there”.
