EDITORS CHOICE: Saint Senara release brand new EP “Dark Waters”

Recorded at White Noise Studios in Weston-super-Mare with talented upcoming producer Lex Raymond, ‘Dark Water EP’ features critically-acclaimed singles ‘There’s A Storm Coming’, ‘Ophelia’ and ‘Lost Lisa Marie’, along with two exclusive live versions.

Following Saint Senara’s award-nominated ‘Under My Skin EP’, the new release takes Saint Senara’s signature sound to a darker, moodier place. ‘Dark Water EP’ is a southern gothic epic that evokes stormy seas, wild landscapes and shadowy depths, with poetic lyricism and a cinematic sound world.

The band embraced the experimental in the studio, using everything from whips and chains to rootsy stomps for percussion, alongside Andrew Bate’s signature driving Gretsch guitar, eerie Ebow sounds and ethereal vocals from both voices.

Singles from this EP have been described as ‘a highlight in modern folk’; ‘a standalone triumph’; ‘a contemplative, atmospheric masterpiece’; ‘full of solace, heartbreak, poetic honesty and lung-filling oceans’; and ‘a masterful blend of blues rock, Americana and haunting experimental elements.’

About Saint Senara:
Saint Senara are award-winning singer-songwriter duo Andrew Bate and Chloe Gorman. Their music spans dirty blues rock, southern gothic Americana and delicate folk songs with dark twists.

Named Gloucestershire’s best band of 2023, Saint Senara have received widespread critical acclaim for their spellbinding lyrics, genre-defying sound and the ability to put on an impressive show with just two people, a guitar and a tambourine.

They’ve been likened to When Rivers Meet but ‘more lyrical’, as well as The Civil Wars, The White Stripes and even Fleetwood Mac, their music is played across radio stations in the UK, Europe and the USA and they were featured in the High Hopes section of national music magazine Blues in Britain in January 2025.
