BCMA Horizon Artist 2024 Katie Rigby follows up her ‘new era’ by announcing her next song, ‘Don’t Give Me Hope’ – set to release on 21st March 2025. The single follows Rigby’s first release this year ’Kiss My Accent’ which received regular radio play on BBC Introducing Manchester, Country Line Radio and 6Towns Radio.
‘Don’t Give Me Hope’ delves into Rigby’s songwriting ability exploring the themes of love and hate in a modern-day romance. Complete with her signature sound, Rigby combines big production feels in the vein of Ella Langley paired with a brain itching melody that will appeal to fans of all genres. The track is already garnering a positive response as Rigby teases the new sound on her social media platforms.
“The song highlights a universal experience of that situationship where you love to hate them but are scared to take the leap. I actually wrote this in America at a summer camp where all I had to do in my spare time was read – after reading twisted hate the melody and lyrics fell out of me … performing this for the first time in Wisconsin was a highlight and I knew the song was special.”
Influenced sonically by artists like Ella Langley and Shaylen – the backing vocals are just as catchy as the track itself – and instrumentally influenced by the likes of Carter Faith and Laci Kaye Booth, the track is playful, raw and full of emotion. Rigby continues to maintain her authenticity as a British country artist whilst still dreaming of that Nashville skyline.
