Russell Kitchin releases his new single “Scars”
“Scars was actually inspired by one guy’s throwaway comment at a gig a few years ago who thought my guitar looked a bit battered and wondered why I hadn’t bought a new one. It set me thinking about how we so often take ourselves for granted and don’t realise just how much we do just to get on. Scars is an anthem for real people who do remarkable things in the course of their lives, often every day without realising it, or other people even seeing it, and never stopping to think how well they’ve done. If it reminds you how well you’ve done and reminds you to give yourself a pat on the back then I’ll be a Happy Guy.”
Scars was made with passion, care and much music and love. Recorded at Mu Studios Sheffield and Skinny Elephant Studios, Nashville, Tennessee and mixed and mastered at Mu Studios. Produced by Martin G Smith and written by Russel Kitchin.
“We were so lucky to be able to call on the services of so many excellent musicians including two who play regularly on the Grand Ol’ Opry in Nashville and blessed that they were happy to do it. My thanks to all of them! As always Heather was ever present, ever involved and a massive part of the music I make, play and share. I couldn’t do it without the support of my family”.
About the Artist…
Russel Kitchin is a Singer/Songwriter from Sheffield. After much success with his award-winning country cover band Badlands, Russel decided that it was about time he pursued his dream of going solo as a country and western singer/songwriter. Having discovered his love and passion of country music from a young age (inspired by his mum’s country and western mix-tapes), it felt only natural for Russel to pursue this creative venture throughout his childhood, and into his adult career.
